Her sisters Rosemary Petyarre, Evelyn Pultara and Anna Price Petyarre are all well-known artists including her brother Greeny Purvis Petyarre. She is first cousin to the famous Petyarre sisters Gloria, Nancy, Myrtle, Kathleen, Violet, Ada and Jean Petyarre. She is also niece to the famous Utopian artist Emily Kngwarreye.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLike many women from the Utopian region of her time, Jeannie started painting batik, in the 1980s. She then went on to use acrylic on canvas.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eShe is well known for her great sense of movement and colour depicting the leaves and seeds changing colours throughout the seasons.  Various leaves and seeds are predominately collected by the women for medicine and food from a variety of trees\/shrubs for use all year round.
