Sadly, Margaret passed away in 2008. Her Daughter Marcia Turner Petyarre, also a respected artist continues to tell the stories passed down to her by her mother.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\n\u003cb\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\n\u003cb\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eIn 1988, Margaret was one of the artists involved in the Summer Batik project which toured locally and internationally and is now a part of the Homes a Court Collection.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eMargaret painted various dreaming's including Bush Medicine. The leaves of these valuable plants (there are many species) were used to treat a range of ailments and were prepared in various ways including, boiling the leaves and the liquid consumed. The leaves were made into a\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003epoultice \u003c\/strong\u003eand placed onto the body.  Leaves were also burned and the smoke was allowed to be inhaled to treat \u003c\/b\u003e\u003cstrong\u003erespiratory \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cb\u003eillnesses and also to ward off bad spirits.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eLike many other artists who started with Batik, Margaret went onto to painting with acrylic on canvas. \u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eMargaret’s works can be found in private and public galleries around Australia and internationally. \u003c\/b\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTraditionally in Aboriginal Culture, when a person is deceased, they do not use the person’s name, and or photos (any digital images) are not to be used.
