From Our Studio to Your Door ~ How We Pack and Ship Your Artwork
There is something deeply satisfying about the moment a painting leaves our hands and begins its journey to yours. But before it does, a great deal of care, thought and preparation goes into making sure it arrives safely and in a way that reflects our values.
A Lifelong Commitment to the Environment
Long before sustainability became a buzzword, it was simply how I was raised. Growing up with parents who reused, recycled and wasted nothing, I learned early that being resourceful was something to be proud of. That philosophy has always carried through into the way I run this gallery.
Where possible, we use recycled packing paper, cardboard and bubble wrap, sourced locally, and our certificates of authenticity are printed on recycled paper. We don't believe caring for art and caring for the environment are mutually exclusive. In fact, for a gallery that champions a deep connection to country, it feels like the only way to do things.
How We Pack Your Painting
Every artwork is different, and we pack each one accordingly.
Canvas paintings are carefully rolled with acid-free paper placed between the layers to protect the surface. They are then bubble wrapped as needed and snugly secured at both ends with recycled paper or bubble wrap before being placed inside a sturdy tube.
Watercolours on board are wrapped in acid-free paper, bubble wrapped and sandwiched securely between two sheets of thin plywood then packed between layers of strong cardboard and firmly sealed with packing tape.
Wooden artifacts are bubble wrapped carefully to protect all surfaces and edges. Depending on the size and shape of the piece, they are then packed into either a sturdy box or tube whichever best suits the item and secured so there is absolutely no movement during transit. We take particular care with these pieces given their three-dimensional nature, ensuring they arrive to you in perfect condition.
Every package is clearly labelled with full contact details for both sender and receiver, including email and mobile number for each so that if anything unexpected happens in transit, there is always a direct point of contact at both ends.
Your Certificate of Authenticity & Photographs
Your laminated certificate of authenticity, along with any available photographs of the artist or artwork, are placed carefully inside an envelope and tucked securely inside the tube (for rolled canvases) or laid flat against one side of the package (for watercolours on board). These documents are an important part of the artwork's history and provenance, and we treat them with the same care as the painting itself.
How We Ship
For artworks within Australia Post's size guidelines, we use our local Australia Post, conveniently just down the road. For larger works that fall outside those limits, we ship through either Pack & Send or DHL, depending on the destination and size of the package.
Every artwork is sent fully insured and requires a signature upon delivery, giving you complete peace of mind from the moment it leaves us to the moment it arrives at your door. Once dispatched, you will receive a tracking number so you can follow your painting's journey every step of the way.
Arriving With Care
We know that receiving a piece of Aboriginal art is a special moment. Every decision we make in the packing and shipping process from the materials we choose to the way we label each package is made with that moment in mind. We want your artwork to arrive exactly as it left us: safely, beautifully, and ready to find its place in your home.
If you ever have any questions about shipping, or if your artwork arrives and something isn't right, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are always here to help.
