FAQ's

Framing and Stretching and where to hang?
When buying your Aboriginal Art from Altyerre Gallery it will be shipped to you carefully rolled in a cylindrical mailing tube. Once you have received the artwork you can decide with your trusted framer, how you would like to have the artwork framed. We suggest the canvas stretched and stapled onto a wooden frame so you are able to see and enjoy the ‘whole’ painting.

All our paintings have an approximate 5cm boarder to allow for framing or wood mounting ie. If the canvas size is stated ; 70cm x 40cm the actual total canvas size is 80cm x 50cm. If the artist has painted the entire canvas, with no boarder, we will mention. This is not a problem, as the works are stretched around the frame.

We recommend placing the artwork away from direct and constant sunlight.

Do you provide Proof of Authenticity with your artworks?
The majority of paintings on our website come with a fully documented Certificate of Authenticity which includes a portrait of the artist, artist biography and a description of the story behind the painting and where possible a photo of the artist with their work.

What does the Provenance of a painting mean?
The place of origin or earliest known history of something; – Wikipedia.

The provenance of works of fine art is very important. A good provenance will increase the value of a painting and will help to confirm details of the painting including the date painted and the identity and details of the artist. A documented history can help to prove ownership if this is ever in dispute.

How do the colours vary on the website compared with the artwork?
Whilst we take every measure to put an accurate copy of an artwork on our website, small variances in colour is unavoidable. If you would like a higher resolution photo to view, please contact us via our contact form here or phone us on +61 400 299 579

What is your Returns Policy? What if I don't like the painting when I receive it?
Buying a piece of artwork is a very personal matter. It is important to us that any artwork that you buy is something you will enjoy. Though we take every step to ensure our artwork images have the exact likeness to the paintings, we understand it is not always the case and images are not the same as viewing the artwork in person. Our policy on returns is that we will fully refund the cost of the artwork if you decide not to keep it within 10 days of receiving it. Please contact us at the Gallery first to let us know you will be returning the painting and then return it to us within the 10 day period and upon receipt of the artwork we will issue you the refund. It will be necessary for you to pay the return freight and insurance. We expect the artwork to be returned in its original condition and with its original accompanying documentation before refunding the purchase price. It is advisable to insure the artwork to its purchase amount as it remains the property of the buyer until received safely by Altyerre Gallery.
