Collection: MARGARET SCOBIE
Margaret comes from one of the most famous family of artists who have achieved national and international recognition. She is the first cousin to the well-known Petyarre Sisters and her Aunt is the famous Emily Kgnwarreye.
Her cousin Gloria Petyarre, a renowned artist, began instructing Margaret to paint at an early age when she wasn’t attending school in Alice Springs. Over the years Margaret has developed her own unique style as can be seen with her medicine leaves and spinifex grass where her flowing lines depict the plants blowing in the wind. The women collect the leaves of a particular plant and is prepared to be used on wounds and sores and other medicinal leaves are boiled and consumed for coughs and colds. Her work is sought after by for their great sense of movement and array of beautiful use of colour.
This painting was purchased directly from Margaret and a gallery certificate of authenticity will be provided with the sale.
