Marcia is the daughter of artist Margaret Turner Petyarre, who sadly passed away in 2008. She continues to paint her mother’s stories.

In her earlier years she spent time alongside talented artists such as Gloria and Kathleen Petyarre. While gaining inspiration from these leading artists she had developed her own unique style with her linear body paint designs which have become popular. Body paint represents the designs painted onto the women’s top half of their bodies for ceremonies.

Marcie is married with seven children. Two of her children are also artists, Rosabella and Sacha Long.
