Betty is the daughter of the late Minnie Pwerle. Minnie was a celebrated artist whose works are sought after by collectors world-wide. Betty was surrounded by artists; her sister Barbara Wier (dec.), her late husband Paddy Club and mother-in-law the renowned artist, Lena Pwerle.

Betty continues to paint the Awelye body paint designs (women’s ceremonial body paint designs) that have been passed down from her mother. The iconic designs are depicted by free-flowing curves and linear pattern stripes which are colourful and contemporary and have a wide-spread appeal.  Traditionally finger-painted on the breasts and upper body for ceremonies.
