Greeny was a respected Senior Elder in his community of Utopia where he lived with his wife Kathleen and their four daughters. He was related to some of the most sought after artists to emerge from Central Australia. He was the nephew of the late Emily Kame Kngwarreye and cousin to the famous Petyarre sisters including Gloria and Kathleen.
Greeny would predominately paint stories of Pencil Yam which showed the root system in the ground and the colours reflecting the stages/season of germination. The white dots representing the yam seed (Kame).
His works are sought after by collectors world-wide.
