LUCY ROSS NAPURRURLA

TITLE: WALLABY DREAMING

ACRYLIC ON CANVAS

90CM X 68.5CM

LUCY HAS SIGNED THE PAINTING AND A PHOTO WITH HER PAINTING WILL BE PROVIDED.

REF#LRN339

Born: Unknown
Skin Name: Napurrurla

Dreaming’s: Wallaby, Bush Tucker, Women’s Ceremony

Lucy grew up in Yuendumu, an Aboriginal settlement on the edge of the Tanami Desert, 290km north west of Alice Springs.

She didn’t produce a large body of work as a painter, it was more of a hobby for her.

She painted the stories of the wallaby, bush tucker collected by the women and women’s ceremony.

Employing the traditional dot style and utilizing iconography, Lucy skillfully portrayed the ancestral stories and Dreaming’s that had been handed down to her.

This painting shows the small wallaby tracks which look like small 'J' back to back along side tracks which are seen as waving dot lines and the meeting place being the 'circle within a circle'.

This painting was purchased directly from Lucy and a gallery certificate of authenticity will be provided with the sale.
