BENJAMIN LANDARA (EBATARINJA)

WATERCOLOUR ON BOARD
75CM X 55CM
BENJAMIN HAS SIGNED THE PAINTING.
Painted: late 1960s-early 70s

REF#BL159

DOB: 1921-1985, Hermannsburg, Northern Territory
Language: Arrernte

Benjamin Landara was a member of the famous Hermannsburg School of Watercolour made famous by the well-known Artist Albert Namatjira.

Benjamin married Albert and Rubina Namatjira’s daughter Masie in 1942. Benjamin was painting his own style of water colour when his father-in-law offered his guidance, and his influence can be seen in his subsequent paintings.

Benjamin went on to become one the most influential artists of the Hermannsburg School whose artwork is held in permanent collections in galleries around Australia.

With most of our paintings listed, they have a boarder however, in this instance the painting has no boarder.

Please note: The painting has some damage to the corners and there is some slight discolouration to the board.

This painting was purchased directly from Benjamin and a gallery certificate of authenticity will be provided with the sale.
