DOREEN DIXON (DICKSON) NAKAMARRA
TITLE: BUSH TUCKER DREAMING
REF#DDN196
Born: 1965. Wirliyajarrayi (Willowra), Northern Territory
Doreen comes from a family of well-known Warlpiri artists. Her mother is Nora Long Napanangka and her sister is Janet Long Nakamarra. Doreen spends her time between the communities of Willowra, Yuendumu and Alice Springs where her family reside. Doreen has developed her own unique style to tell the stories passed down. Her palette changes depending on the story. She uses vibrant colours and other times striking black and white paintings.
This painting is a beautiful depiction of the various bush tucker collected by the women using iconography with a stunning use of colour.
This painting was purchased directly from Doreen and a gallery certificate of authenticity will be provided with the sale.
