PETER HAS SIGNED THE PAINTING.

REF#PT157

DOB: 1940-2014, Oodnadatta, South Australia

Language: Arrernte

As a young boy Peter followed his father as he worked as a cattleman moving from station to station in Central Australia until they settled briefly in Hermannsburg in his early years. It was here Peter was inspired by artists such as Albert Namatjira who captured the landscape with water colour.

Peter returned to Adelaide and completed school where he showed a keen interest in art. Peter longed to be back in the country he grew up in as a small boy and returned to live in Alice Springs in his early 20s where he painted alongside artists; Clem Abbott and Keith Namatjira.

Peter went on to become one of the most sought-after water colour artists. With countless exhibitions and works in numerous private and public collections.

This painting was purchased directly from Peter and a gallery certificate of authenticity will be provided with the sale.
