Born: 1977, Kaltukatjara (Docker River)   Northern Territory
Language: Pitjantjatjara
Dreamings: Bush Tucker, Women’s Ceremony& Country

Rowena Pei Pei, daughter of Kunbry and Charlie Pei Pei Pei,  was born in the remote town Kaltukatjara in central Australia. She spent her time between various communities where her family were located such as Areyonga , situated 220 km west of Alice Springs and Mutitjulu, near Uluru.

Her introduction to the world of art came through her mother, Kunbry, herself a talented artist. Rowena’s artistic journey began early, immersing her in the craft and cultural heritage through her artwork.

Rowena's art is steeped in symbolism and employs traditional iconography as a means to narrate her tales.

During her visits to Alice Springs to see family, Rowena would visit our family home with her beautiful artwork for sale.

Today, Rowena continues to create independently while collaborating with Maruku Arts near Uluru.

This painting was purchased directly from Rowena and a gallery certificate of authenticity will be provided with the sale.
